What’s going on here?

I am not sure. I’m here, looking around, taking notes, trying to figure it out, too.

I studied math as a way to understand how the world works. The portability and versatility of it— mathematics describes so many unrelated phenomena in the universe that it must be getting close to something true, essential, inherent in existence— appealed to me. I wanted to peel back reality, see what was there.

Lately I’ve turned to other ways of peeling back reality. Narrative is another shared language, portable across domains, containing and expressing and defining really everything under this sun. I’m into language, stories, felt experiences, spirituality, psychology, nature, consciousness, the body, how to make it through each day, and how all of these are really kind of the same thing.

I write to try to peel back the layers of myself, to see what’s there. Thank you for joining me.
